About
I started my midwifery journey 8 years ago and worked as an NHS community midwife until June 2022. I have worked with women and families from diverse backgrounds; educating, empowering and caring for their individual needs. It is a privilege to be alongside families during such a significant stage in their lives and I have adored my work as a midwife.

As a midwife I have always strived to work holistically, providing care to meet the physiological and emotional needs of women and their families. However, I often found myself constrained by over-booked clinics and 20-minute appointment slots. I have felt defeated trying to give women the care and information they deserve. You deserve more and I want to give you more.

I am now an Independent Midwife based in Northamptonshire. I want to dedicate more time and space for families to explore the issues that are important to them in their pregnancies and beyond.

I am a firm believer that birth can be a powerful and transformative experience. A healthy mother and baby are important, but a positive birth experience is also essential for a new parent’s health and wellbeing. Continuity of carer and individualised psychological support is known to contribute to the probability of experiencing a positive birth and transition into parenthood.

My particular passion has been supporting mothers who have suffered a traumatic birth, those experiencing postnatal depression and those experiencing anxiety in pregnancy and beyond. This has led me to commence a master’s degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, in hope of providing more intensive emotional support to those who may need it.

I plan to be able to provide counselling sessions soon, but in the meantime I intend to combine my evolving counselling knowledge and skills with my midwifery expertise to support your transition to parenthood.
